Hey, everyone! The toolchain upgrades we've mentioned are on the way. In the September 15 release, Code on the Go will come with the following changes:

• Kotlin 1.9.22 ➔ 2.3.21
• AGP 8.11.0 ➔ 9.3.1
• Gradle 8.14.4 ➔ 9.6.1
• TOML-based version catalogs (optional)

These changes are not merely incremental updates. They are a major leap forward for Code on the Go, providing greater stability, improved performance, and a standardized development environment so you can focus on Kotlin code instead of build configurations. By extension, these are breaking changes, but the migration guide will help you make the appropriate adjustments. We are also here to help!

toml-based version catalog means the version could be modified through libs.version.toml? what about gradle wrapper? why not just use gradlew instead of local gradle though?

@BanDroid The custom Gradle preference was removed about a year and a half ago specifically to ensure stability. AGP versions are strictly tied to specific Gradle versions. If the app permitted the use of gradlew with an arbitrary wrapper or let users set a custom local Gradle, it could easily result in an invalid AGP+Gradle combo, which silently breaks all builds.
