describe the request
Core request: remove age verification from the version of systemd used by Arch.
Arch currently draws from the base systemd repo, which recently had age verification enablement added to it. While there is no requirement to use said component, to me this is about principle -- rejecting age surveillance, and not allowing any applications to assume the presence of surveillance systems on users' computers. This would also encourage other distros to do the same -- a response which is much-needed at a time when privacy is increasingly threatened.
(To be transparent -- I am the dev behind liberated systemd, which is a proof-of-concept for removal of age verification from systemd. If Arch wants to remove age verification from its default version of systemd, and if it would be useful in that effort, I would be happy to transfer ownership of the repo to Arch. All I care about here is privacy, and standing against surveillance)
