#Summary This document contains the instructions to setup the host software on a raspberry pi running a new image of raspian wheezy. If you have problems with this or better ideas, make it better.

  • Install RXTX and xserver utils
  • Disable sleep/screensaver
  • Setup application to start on boot
  • Install application
  • Reboot
  • Enjoy!!

##Future
In an effort to make things as simple as possible, eventually we'll make an image. After finalizing the manual steps needed to make the host work on a raspberry pi, we would like to find a way to create a raspian wheezy image with this software preinstalled.

#Install RXTX and xserver utils sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install librxtx-java
sudo apt-get install x11-xserver-utils #Disable sleep/screensaver Instructions to disable the sleep/screensaver on the pi

sudo nano /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc

Add the following lines to the end of the document

xset s off         # don't activate screensaver
xset -dpms # disable DPMS (Energy Star) features
xset s noblank # don't blank the video device

Save and exit nano, then enter the following commands

sudo sed -i 's/#xserver-command=X/xserver-command=X -s 0 -dpms'/ /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf
sudo sed -i 's/POWERDOWN_TIME=30/POWERDOWN_TIME=0'/ /etc/kbd/config
sudo sed -i 's/BLANK_TIME=30/BLANK_TIME=0'/ /etc/kbd/config

#Setup application to start on boot Instructions to start the Creation-Workshop-Host on boot Enter the following commands

mkdir ~/.config/autostart
touch ~/.config/autostart/cwhost.desktop
nano ~/.config/autostart/cwhost.desktop

Add the following lines to the file :

[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Exec=Exec=/home/pi/cwh/start.sh

#Install the application Go home

cd ~

Run the script (or commands in the script) found at:

networkInstall.sh

#!/bin/bash

rm -r cwh mkdir cwh cd cwh wget https://github.com/area515/Creation-Workshop-Host/raw/master/host/cwh-0.51.zip unzip cwh-0.51.zip chmod 777 start.sh chmod 777 debug.sh chmod 777 browseprinter.sh rm cwh-0.51.zip

#Reboot sudo reboot

#Enjoy Hizzah!!! Open your browser, use the IP of your raspberry pi as "yourpi", and navigate to the following
http://yourpi:9091/index.html
