What shipped
Three layers of competitive analysis:
Deep dives (
/analyze-competitors Linear) — comprehensive single-competitor analysis. Company profile, strategy, business model, SWOT, and how you win against them. Uses a structured template with frontmatter metadata for filtering across competitors.Product teardowns (
/product-teardown Vistaly) — reverse-engineer how a competitor's product actually works. Features tied to JTBD, UX flows, architecture signals, growth mechanics. Three depth levels: light (quick scan), standard (2-4 features), deep (everything).Landscape synthesis (
/analyze-competitors synthesize our landscape) — when you have 3+ deep dives or teardowns, landscape mode reads all of them and produces cross-competitor patterns, a positioning map, feature gap analysis, and strategic bets. No web research needed, just synthesis of your own analysis.Plus monitoring (
/analyze-competitors monthly check-in) for staying current. How it works together
Deep dives tell you why a competitor matters. Teardowns tell you how their product works. Landscape synthesis tells you what it all means. Monitoring tells you what changed.
Everything feeds into
context/competitors.md, which every other skill reads. So when you run/prdor/prioritize, your competitive context is already there.New templates
Try it
Would love to hear how you use these. What competitors are you analyzing? What patterns do you see?
