Hello! I see in the image-updater documentation the intention to add the possibility of rolling back image versions. Is this still on the roadmap? If so, is there an estimated timeframe for that implementation?

I would not plan around Image Updater providing rollback until a maintainer confirms it.

In the current docs, Image Updater's documented job is forward image selection and write-back. The supported update strategies are semver, newest-build, digest, and alphabetical, and the write-back methods are argocd and git. I do not see a documented rollback feature or ETA in those docs.

The safest rollback model today is outside Image Updater:

git write-back: revert the Image Updater commit or restore the previous image tag in Git
argocd write-back: set the image parameter back through Argo CD / Application config
deployment rollback: use Argo CD app history or your normal GitOps rollback path

If you need rollback as a product feature, I would frame it as a roadmap question for maintainers, but operationally I would keep rollback in Git/Argo CD and use Image Updater only to advance to allowed image versions.
