About this firmware

This firmware is a fork of the F4HWN custom firmware. It extends the work originally done for the UV-K5 V1 (DP32G030 MCU) and adapts it to the newer UV-K1 and UV-K5 V3, which are based on the PY32F071 MCU. It is the result of joint work by @muzkr and @armel. Many thanks to @mrkusypl and @Tunas1337 for their valuable help.

The Fusion edition brings together, in a single firmware, all the different editions that were previously released separately for the UV-K5 V1. In other words, instead of choosing between multiple specialized firmwares, Fusion integrates all features into one unified build, and more.

If you are new to the firmware, a good reading order is: Getting started, Programming with CHIRP if you manage the radio from a computer, Radio operation, Scanning, Menu, then Button functions. If you prefer visual walkthroughs, see Videos and tutorials.

If you are upgrading from an earlier v5.x build, see Recent changes for the main user-visible changes in recent releases and the current v5.8.0 development branch.

Warning

THIS FIRMWARE HAS NO REAL BRAIN. PLEASE USE YOUR OWN. Use this firmware entirely at your own risk. There is absolutely no guarantee that it will work in any way, shape, or form on your radio(s). It may even brick your radio(s), in which case you would need to buy another radio.

You have been warned. That said, have fun.
