Device reports: how fast does Yomu run on your phone?

[artsaraiva]

Yomu has only been measured on one phone so far. This thread collects how it runs on others, so the README can say what to expect on your phone instead of guessing.

Every report helps, slow and failed ones most of all. A crash or an out-of-memory kill on a 4 GB or 6 GB phone tells us more than another fast flagship.

How to report

1. Open the test page in your phone's gallery: demo-before.png. Using the same page makes the numbers comparable.
2. Start Yomu's overlay and tap the floating button over the page. Translate it twice; the first run includes loading the models.
3. Then do one of these:
   • Quick: open Settings → Performance in Yomu and post a screenshot of the readout.
   • Full (preferred): long-press the floating button, tap Report last page, and attach the zip to your comment. It holds the capture, the page time per stage, the model's reply and your phone model. Nothing is sent anywhere until you choose where it goes.
4. Fill in this template:

Phone:
Chip (SoC):
RAM:
Android version:
Yomu version:
Translation model:
Page time (second run):
Worked / crashed / was killed:
Notes:

Results so far

Phone	Chip	RAM	Android	Model	Page time	Peak memory	Result
Samsung Galaxy S23	Snapdragon 8 Gen 2	8 GB	—	Qwen2.5 1.5B Q4_K_M	~15 s	~2.0 GB	works

This table is updated as reports come in. Bugs that aren't about speed or memory belong in a bug report.
