Validate content length after finished upload

Currently, the content length of an object must be provided manually when the object is created. Can't this be determied automatically in the "finish upload" call? Otherwise, I see a potential for errors if the manually provided content length does not match the actual size of the object.

thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately this is not quite as straight forward as it looks. The need for a content length before-hand is part of the regular S3 single-part upload procedure, in which the client indicates how many bytes the storage is expected to receive. So determining this after the upload is already done defeats one of its main purposes.

If the provided length and the (user) specified length do not match, an error / abort on the finish request should be returned. Unfortunately this behavior is not fully implemented yet so i agree that this part needs improvement.

Ideally the automated determination of the upload length should be done client sided by higher level client libraries. But this will be out of scope for now.

Thanks again for reporting this, I will leave the issue open till we find a proper solution. If you have got any other suggestions / ideas regarding this topic you are more than welcome to mention them in another comment below.

This sounds fine to me. The potential for errors was my main concern.
