Athas Lags on CachyOS Installation

Environment

• OS: CachyOS (6.19.6-2-cachyos)
• Version: 0.4.4

Problem

On installing with AUR (or building from source), the editor seem to lag a lot for large projects with multiple files.

1. Opening the Project folder takes upward of 30-40sec
2. On each file open, there's a visible 1sec+ lag on each file (Even on small project folder)
3. Once Loaded, Cycling via Ctrl + Tab seem to work quickly, however there is a visible flash with text color highlighting.

Let me know if you need any videos/debug logs. Love the look & feel of editor. It's just the lag that's preventing me from using it properly.

Thank you for reporting, I didn't test it on CatchyOS but I'll try to reproduce this

Also, just for referece, Gitbutler in it's earlier versions had the same input lag as Athas. In it's newer versions it's a bit faster.

Given Gitbutler is also built on Tauri, you can probably check out some of the optimizations they did to make it work on linux.

I have the same experience on macos. Opening the project is not that slow but each time I click on a file inside the project it takes several seconds to open the file content.

Not sure if there is any kind of profile or logs that cna help here. I'm on the https://github.com/rotki/rotki .

If it is helpful I had similar issues in the past with zed and the reason was the editor trying to index a sqlite database and it is several MBs

Yeah, I guess it's due to some webkit issue. Both MacOS (Webkit) and Linux (WebkitGTK) use the same engine basically.

let me know if you want me to check with a specific commit. I checked locally with d283005b800283195cd4165ebb02d23b70fac53c and still faced the same issues
