How to achieve mac os blur? (not liquid glass)

MacOS (pre-liquid glass) seems very special in the way it handles blur. I am curious as to how you could replicate that effect in GNOME with the blur my shell extension with minimal performance impact, particularly the top panel/bar blur effect. The best I could do was increase the native gaussian blur radius but its satisfactory rate is varying with different wallpapers. It would be grateful if someone can give me some suggestions to replicate this more consistently. TIA!

Hi, this will soon be added to blur my shell (see the latest pull requests), and you'll be able to do that!

(even though the liquid glass style itself is not that readible imho)

I think you are mistaken. I meant the macos blur before liquid glass - macos 15 Sequoia and before versions. Could you help me achieve a smiliar effect in blur my shell if possible?

But still im glad that liquid glass is also being supported by the extension. Thanks for your efforts!
