My Notebook v1.7.1 — notes that name themselves

22 Jun 07:01

Choose a tag to compare

Your notes now title themselves.

Start a new note, paste in an article, a meeting agenda, a recipe — anything — and My Notebook reads the first heading (or first line) and makes it the note's title for you. No more a wall of notes all called "New note." And it's careful: if you've already given a note a title, your title is never touched.

Install: download MyNotebook_Setup_v1.7.1.exe below and run it — no admin rights, installs portable, and won't touch your existing data on upgrade.

What's new

  • Auto-titling — paste into an untitled note and the title is set from the pasted content's first heading or first line (capped, cleaned up). Works for rich web paste, plain text, and Ctrl+Shift+V. Existing titles are preserved.

Everything from 1.7.0 is here too: the two-pane drawer workspace, collapsible folder rail + note list, multi-select with bulk actions, paste-with-formatting-and-images (kept offline), OCR'd pasted images, Timeline, hybrid Myanmar/OCR search, themes, export, and voice.

Requires Windows 11 (x64).

My Notebook v1.7.0

A big workspace redesign, richer paste, and fixes.

Install: download MyNotebook_Setup_v1.7.0.exe below and run it — no admin rights, installs portable, and won't touch your existing data on upgrade.

Redesigned workspace

  • Two-pane drawer — folders rail + note list are now one joined, rounded "drawer": the rail floats over the list with a soft shadow, and the rail, list, and editor share one consistent rounded-card look.
  • Collapsible panels — hide/show the folder rail and the note list from the title bar (animated); each panel remembers its width.
  • A real note list — rich rows (title · date · snippet), a sort menu, and multi-select (Ctrl/Shift-click, or the Select button) for bulk move / pin / delete. Drag notes onto a folder to move them.
  • Folders-only rail with modern icons; resizable rail and list.

Paste like OneNote

  • Paste a whole web article and keep the formatting and images — images are downloaded into the note so it stays fully offline.
  • Paste-as-plain-text with Ctrl+Shift+V, tracking junk (utm_*, fbclid, …) stripped from pasted links, duplicate images de-duplicated, large images downscaled, and pasted images OCR'd so their text is searchable.

Also new

  • About page (Settings → About) with the source link and a note that updates are manual.

Fixes

  • Ctrl+V again pastes a screenshot into a screenshot thread.

Everything from 1.6.0 (Timeline, hybrid Myanmar/OCR search, themes, export, voice, version history) is still here. Requires Windows 11 (x64).

Portable, local-first notebook for Windows 11.

Install: download MyNotebook_Setup_v1.6.0.exe below and run it — no admin rights needed, installs portable, and won't touch your existing data on upgrade.

New in 1.6.0

  • Timeline — browse every note by date. Notes and screenshot threads are grouped into Today / Yesterday / Earlier this week / Earlier this month / then by month, newest first. Zoom out (pinch, Ctrl+−, or click a header) to jump straight to any period. Toggle between recently edited and date created. Open it from the clock button in the sidebar.
  • About window — a proper About page (Settings → About → "About My Notebook") with the version, the source-code link, and a clear notice that updates are manual: the app never updates itself, so check the Releases page to get new versions.

Everything from 1.5.0 is still here: rich editor, OCR-searchable screenshot threads, hybrid Myanmar-aware search, themes, export to PDF/Word/HTML, voice reader, version history, and backup.

Requires Windows 11 (x64).
