ThinkPad Toolbox 1.0.2

Control your ThinkPad's status LEDs, CPU fan, and keyboard backlight, with live CPU temperature, fan RPM, and battery info. Runs in the system tray.

This is the current stable release. The earlier 1.0.0 and 1.0.1 builds were withdrawn: their low-level embedded-controller access could occasionally disturb Windows' battery and charging state (cleared by a reboot). This release makes that access well-behaved, it backs off when the controller is busy, coordinates through the shared EC lock other tools use, and only reads the controller while the window is open.

Install

Download and run ThinkPadToolbox-Setup-1.0.2.exe (self-contained, no .NET runtime needed). On Windows 11 with Memory Integrity / Core Isolation enabled, keep the "Install PawnIO driver" option ticked.

Requires a ThinkPad and 64-bit Windows 10/11. The hardware driver needs administrator rights (the app elevates itself).

Note: the installer is not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may warn on first run. Click "More info", then "Run anyway".
