The first release of PP merits tracking was intentionally very simple to generate discussion on what would be useful, like this. So thank you for the comments. If you could write this up as a spec - i.e. for every type of activity that generates merits, how it should be tracked and any special treatment like S&R being tallied against the system it was scooped in - then I'll take a look at what's needed to implement. If you can provide your own evidence or a documented reference where this has been observed, that would be really useful too (hopefully you can appreciate I can't just add functionality to Tally without knowing it's correct - this has happened before with BGS tallying so I'm more cautious about verifying the actual game behaviour first these days!). |

On one hand, simply showing a total tally of all unfiltered merits earned during a tick is about as useful as showing the player's credit balance difference between the start and end of a tick......
On the other hand, tracking system/activity merits is significantly more complex since the journal does not help you, item provenance needs to be tracked depending on activity (e.g. undermining search&rescue counts as merits for the system the items were scooped from, not the system where you turn them in), multiple merit rewards in the journal can correspond to a single action (bulk selling exobio / cartography), etc...
Tracking per-system merits would already be a good start, though, but different activities also have different impacts (bonus/malus for personal merits vs control merit impact), all things that are useful to know for coordinators.
