The TRV Controller is a plugin for version 7+ of the Indigo Home Automation system. It enables you to control Z-Wave Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRVs) in a multi-thermostat installation and enhances the standard devices with features such as schedule control.
This Plugin controls TRVs and links them to some form of heat source controller device or variable. When a TRV is "calling for heat" the heat source is turned on. Likewise, when none of the controlled TRVs are "calling for heat" the heat source is turned off.
The Plugin also provides a number of additional functions, namely:
- Basic controls e.g. turn on/off, set heat setpoint, increase/decrease heat setpoint etc.
- Control of up to four separate heating schedules per TRV per day
- Advance to next schedule [start or end]
- Extend active schedule
- Turn on for a period of time if not in a schedule
- Boost current measured temperature for a period of time
- Use a remote thermostat to control the TRV rather than the TRV's internal temperature measurement
The TRV Controller oversees the control of the TRV and will turn it 'on' when heat is required and turn it 'off' when its heat setpoint is reached. You will therefore see situations where the TRV Controller device is 'on' but the TRV device is 'off'. The TRV Controller is constantly monitoring the temperature provided either by the TRV or Remote Thermostat and controlling the TRV accordingly.
