I want to push some OCI images, but they have the optional data field in their config descriptors, so I'm getting "405 Method Not Allowed" instead of a successfully pushed image.

Tell us about the problem you're trying to solve. What are you trying to do, and why is it hard?
I'm trying to push some verbatim OCI-spec-compliant images to ECR Public, but I can't push them as-is without modifying them (which would then change their digests and make them different images).
Are you currently working around this issue?
Nope! I've been apparently suffering from this problem for two months now, but only just today figured out why, and as a result, I likely won't fix it (I'll just stop pushing to ECR Public instead 🙈).
