This section includes visualization projects where I used PowerBI
- Data connections: Learnt how to connect Power BI to various data sources, such as databases, Excel files, SharePoint, cloud services, and web APIs. Understood the different connection options and techniques for importing and refreshing data.
- Data modeling: Gained a solid understanding of Power BI's data modeling capabilities. Learnt how to create relationships between tables, define calculated columns and measures using the DAX language, and built hierarchies and calculated tables to support complex analysis.
- Data visualization: Explored the wide range of visualizations available in Power BI and learn when and how to use each type effectively. Understood how to customize visualizations, format axes, apply filters, and add interactivity to create visually appealing and insightful reports and dashboards.
- Power Query: Learnt how to use Power Query to clean, transform, and shape data before loading it into your data model. Explored various data manipulation techniques, merging and appending data, and handling data quality issues.
- DAX (Data Analysis Expressions): Developed a good understanding of the DAX language, which is used for creating calculated columns, measures, and calculated tables in Power BI. Learnt key DAX functions and concepts such as filtering, aggregation, iterating, and time intelligence functions.
- Report and dashboard design: Learnt how to design effective reports and dashboards in Power BI. Understood best practices for layout, navigation, and visual organization. Explored techniques for creating drill-through actions, bookmarks, and custom visuals to enhance the user experience.
- Advanced analytics: Explored advanced analytics capabilities in Power BI, such as forecasting, clustering, and trend analysis. Learnt how to use the Analyze feature to discover insights, trends, and anomalies in your data.
