v0.2.0 is close, and I could use testers v0.2.0 is nearly ready and it's a big jump from 0.1.1. The headline is full Home Assistant integration: your HA entities show up as controls right on the live video, so you can hit a light, open the garage, or glance at a sensor without leaving the camera view. On top of that I worked through a long list of smaller things I always wished my NVR did and added as many as I could. I've tested it hard on my own setup and run a lot of automated compatibility checks to catch issues on hardware I don't own, but mine is just one setup. It's been solid for me, no major issues so far, but I genuinely don't know how it behaves on other people's cameras yet, and that's what I need help with. If you've installed it, or you're up for trying, I'd really appreciate the feedback. There's also a short TESTING.md that covers what's most useful to check and how to report anything you run into. |

Hi, and thanks for being here.
CrumbVMS is a self-hosted NVR I built for my own cameras: a frame-level scrubbable H.265 timeline, a multi-camera live wall, batch export, and per-camera roles, with optional Frigate detections drawn on the timeline. It runs entirely on your own hardware. No cloud, no account, no telemetry.
This is a very early alpha. It records day in and day out on my own eleven-camera setup, but "works on my machine" is exactly the problem: one person, one set of cameras, one GPU, one disk layout. The only way to learn how it holds up in the real world is to get it onto hardware that isn't mine. That is where you come in.
What would help most
Where to put feedback
Before you start, please read the Alpha Tester Terms and Responsible & lawful use. And a real heads up: this is alpha software that records security cameras, so please do not make it your only security system yet.
Thank you, genuinely. Early testers are how this turns into something solid.
Jason
