Summary
I would like to report a few Base App issues and share a UX improvement suggestion. These issues are affecting the Mini App browsing experience, coin filtering, and the in-app feedback flow.
Device used: Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
1. Mini App browser bottom navigation overlaps app content
Current behavior
When opening a Mini App inside the Base App browser, the bottom search/browser bar is now fixed together with the bottom navigation area.
Previously, the search bar was floating in roughly the same bottom area. That floating version already caused conflicts with some Mini Apps. However, after the recent change where it is fixed near the bottom navigation, the problem appears to be worse.
Now, the bottom portion of Mini Apps can get hidden or cut off because the Base App browser UI still occupies that space and does not release enough usable screen area for the Mini App.
For example, in the attached screenshot, the Mini App content and bottom controls are visually conflicting with the Base App browser/navigation area.
Expected behavior
When a Mini App is opened inside the Base App browser, the Mini App should be able to use the full available viewport without the Base App browser UI covering or cutting off its bottom content.
Suggested solution
A better approach could be:
- When a user opens a Mini App from Search, URL input, or Pinned Apps, the Base App bottom navigation should temporarily move into an app/browser mode.
- While the Mini App is active, the normal bottom navigation should not create an extra fixed layer above the Mini App.
- The browser/search bar could be integrated into the same bottom navigation area, instead of taking additional vertical space.
- When the user closes the Mini App, the normal Base App bottom navigation can return.
- Base could also add a small minimize button for Mini Apps. If the user minimizes the Mini App, the normal bottom navigation can become available again.
Why this matters
Many Mini Apps depend on bottom controls, buttons, or interactive areas. If the Base App browser UI covers that area, users may not be able to properly use those Mini Apps. This can reduce the quality of the Mini App experience inside Base App.
2. Solana filter in the Coins section shows no coins
Current behavior
In the Base App Home page, the Coins section appears to include chain filtering. Solana has been added as a chain option, but when I select only Solana from the filter, no coins are shown.
The screen shows:
No Coins Found
We couldn't find any coins matching the selected filter.
Expected behavior
If Solana is available as a filter option, selecting Solana should show relevant Solana coins/assets if they are supported.
If Solana assets are not fully supported yet, the app should provide a clearer message, such as:
Solana assets are not available in this view yet.
Why this matters
When Solana appears as an available filter but returns no results, it feels like the feature may not be fully implemented or the filter is not connected properly. This can confuse users.
3. “Give Feedback” button inside Base App is not working
Current behavior
The Base App has a “Give Feedback” option inside the Profile menu, but tapping it does not work for me. It does not open a feedback form or any clear feedback submission flow.
Expected behavior
The “Give Feedback” button should open a working feedback form or feedback submission page.
Why this matters
If the in-app feedback flow does not work, users cannot easily report bugs, submit suggestions, or help the Base team improve the app experience.
A fallback could also be useful. For example, if the feedback form cannot open, the app could show an alternative link to GitHub Issues, Base Help, or another official feedback channel.
Device information
Device: Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
I am mentioning the device so the team can understand that this is unlikely to be caused by low device performance.
Attachments
I have attached screenshots showing:
- Mini App browser bottom UI overlapping/cutting off Mini App content.
- Base App Discover/Search area where Mini Apps are opened.
- Coins section showing “No Coins Found” after filtering.
- The in-app “Give Feedback” option that does not work.
