Omarchy shortcomings for newbies

I checked your solution, but your system doesn't have a way to change the written language from US to GR? I need to write in both languages. I went through the manual and didn't see anything about it.

Also, another thing that I always turn off on linux is tap-n-drag, no way to turn off that here?

And what about power setup (e.g. telling the laptop to sleep after 5 minutes of inactivity on battery power)? As you can see, these little things are needed to be present in your menus, if we're going to replace our GUI-centric DEs for this solution. There are some GUI preference panels that need reimplementation if we are to see Omarchy as a replacement for traditional DEs.

I think all of those are implemented, or atleast mentioned in the manual / videos.

with tiling wm there mostly are no GUIs for these stuff, and most of thing are done in config files.

For example, setting your keyboard layout is done in .config/hypr/input.conf

power setup is done through hypridle config in ~/.config/hypr/hypridle.conf

You misunderstood the nature of my report.
There are some preference panels, that are found on ALL major DEs. Like the ones I mentioned.

Then you replied that these options do exist, if you edit the configuration files.

My point is, that for these common options, that are found on all other DEs, Omarchy should have a front end, like it has for themes or sound.

I'm not asking for a front-end for every little option of hyprland, but I'm asking for every common option, as found on other DEs.

Basically, what I'm after is a front-end that meets expectations for 99% of users. When every single DE offers you a way to choose keyboard language, they EXPECT that there too. No matter if this is for "advanced users" or not. That's where Omarchy should step in.

Omarchy doesn't have GUI options for this. Maybe it will someday, but I don't think so. You may look into Omakub instead.

I'm not talking about GUIs, I'm talking about the front-end it already has for various options, but to add more options. No one is asking for actual graphical preference panels. Just to add more options on its front-end, like keyb language, power stuff, etc. It already has options for audio and some touchpad options, so it's not like I'm asking it to do something that it would never do. I'm just asking it to do more of these, to meet a random user's expectations. Talking about "target audiences" here, while this thing is marketed to high heavens (from its author no less!), is ironic.

3. Not turning off was a bug that's been fixed in v1.13.0

Omarchy is going to keep an emphasis on direct config file editing for things like Hyprland settings, like mentioned in point #1 and #2. It's definitely a little nerdy, but our target audience is developers, so that's okay. There are a lot of options out there for people who think that's too much.
