Spree Direct Debit

spree_direct_debit is a Spree extension that adds Direct Debit as a payment method. This is a B2B payment method where customers have already completed bank direct debit registration procedures in advance.

• B2B payment method requiring prior bank direct debit registration.
• No payment processing is handled within the Spree system.
• No need for customers to enter card details or payment information on the EC site.

1. Customer selects "Direct Debit" as the payment method.
2. Customer proceeds to the confirmation screen and clicks the order confirmation button.
3. Upon order confirmation, the system automatically changes the order status to paid.
4. The actual bank withdrawal occurs later through the banking system (external to Spree).

Add this line to your Spree application's Gemfile:

gem 'spree_direct_debit'

Then run:

bundle install

You can configure the Direct Debit payment method via script:

Spree::PaymentMethod::DirectDebit.find_or_create_by(
  name: "Direct debit",
  description: "Direct debit payment method",
  active: true,
  display_on: "both",
  auto_capture: true
)

Once installed and configured, customers will be able to select "Direct Debit" as a payment method during checkout. The order status will automatically update to paid upon order confirmation, and the actual payment will be handled externally by the banking system.
