Add auto-update preferences and in-app install controls

• add application update settings that let users enable or disable automatic update checks and choose auto-install behavior
• surface a richer update banner and title bar controls so users can decide to install now, schedule automatic installs, or defer
• enhance the auto-updater pipeline with setting-aware guards, version metadata, and immediate checks when re-enabled
