Scrib Desktop v1.5.0: image embeds and faster note closing
Everything new since v1.2.0, in one download. Windows 10 and 11. Portable: extract the zip and run scrib_desktop.exe. No installer, no account, no tracking.
New in this release
Image embeds (1.5.0)
Insert images into rich-text notes from the Insert menu or the toolbar. Wide format support: PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, BMP and SVG render directly; TIFF, TGA, ICO, PSD and others are converted on insert. Images are stored inside the note, so in an encrypted .scrb they are encrypted along with the text. Large images are downscaled automatically.
Faster note closing and tab management (1.4.0)
Closing a note is now instant instead of pausing on large notes. Right-click a tab for Close Others, Close to the Right, and Close All. Tabs show hover feedback and full-path tooltips. A Line Numbers toggle was added to the View menu, plus a Keyboard Shortcuts reference (F1).
Security fix (1.4.0)
Encrypting a .txt or .rtf now removes the plaintext original from disk instead of leaving a copy behind. The set-password dialog gained a strength meter and a no-recovery reminder.
Data-integrity and format hardening (1.3.0)
A self-describing, authenticated .scrb v3 format and a much larger test suite. Every existing .scrb file still opens.
