Does not open after installation.

Hi Creator,

I am currently experiencing a bug where i just donwloaded the software and it doesn't open. I already let it run as admin but still no luck.

I installed the app on a separate account on the same computer ( the thingamabob where you can sign in as admin and another user )

Looking forward for your response.

Hi! Thanks for trying WritHer.

A couple of quick questions first: which release did you download (v1.0.0 or v1.1.0)? And which version of Windows are you running (10 or 11, and the build number if you have it, you can find it with Win+R → winver)?

Now, to help diagnose why it won't open, could you try these steps?

1. Check if Windows is blocking it:

Right-click WritHer.exe → Properties → at the bottom, if you see "This file came from another computer and might be blocked", check Unblock and click OK
Also check if Windows Defender or your antivirus quarantined it (look in Defender's "Protection history")

2. Run it from a terminal so we can see the error:

Open Command Prompt (Win+R → cmd → Enter)
Navigate to the WritHer folder: cd "C:\path\to\WritHer"
Run: WritHer.exe
If it crashes, the error message will stay visible in the terminal. Copy/paste what you see

3. Check if the data folder was created:

Open File Explorer and go to: %APPDATA%\WritHer
If this folder doesn't exist, the app crashed before it could initialize
If it exists, check if there's a writher.log file inside. That log will tell us exactly where it failed
4. Internet access:

On first launch, WritHer needs to download the speech model (~74 MB). Does this account have unrestricted internet access?
The most common cause on secondary Windows accounts is SmartScreen silently blocking the exe. Step 1 usually fixes it. Let me know what you find!
