Bug fixes

  • Aligning a sequencing read against a library plasmid no longer renames it with underscores. When you aligned (Plasmidsaurus, "Diff with another plasmid", or multi-align) against a plasmid whose name has spaces — e.g. "My Plasmid 1" — the alignment label, and the plasmid loaded onto the canvas, fell back to the underscored GenBank LOCUS ("My_Plasmid_1"), which could then get saved as the library name. All three alignment paths now carry your typed display name through, so it stays exactly as you named it.

New features

  • Migrate Data — move your entire SpliceCraft setup between machines as one portable file. A new File ▸ Migrate Data option packages everything — your whole plasmid library, collections, parts bin, primers, features, grammars, codon tables, entry vectors, settings, lab notebook, and full construction history — into a single compressed .zip, and imports such a file into another install (a fresh one then picks up exactly where you left off). It's built to be bulletproof: the export writes atomically (you never get a half-written file), and the import backs up your current data automatically, verifies every file's checksum before replacing it, and refuses anything that isn't a genuine, same-or-older SpliceCraft archive — so a corrupt, foreign, or tampered file can never clobber your data. Large, re-downloadable HMM databases are left out by default (their catalog travels with you, so you re-download them on the new machine); tick a box to include them.

Hardening

  • The Migrate Data import is fully reversible — your previous data is snapshotted first, so you can undo with splicecraft update --restore-pre-update latest. The packaged file set is driven by the same internal registry the pre-update snapshot uses, so it automatically stays complete as SpliceCraft grows.
