Public TubeHaus instances: volunteers wanted 🙋

Lots of people have asked "can I try it without setting up a server?" Since v0.6.0 that's possible, if a few of you are willing to run a public TubeHaus instance.

What public mode does

Set TUBEHAUS_PUBLIC=1 in .env and restart:

• Every visitor's library lives in their own browser. Subscriptions, history, resume points and playlists stay in the browser's local storage. The server stores nothing about its visitors, and nobody sees anyone else's data
• The server only does stateless work: fetching feeds, parsing imports, converting exports, and playing video
• Off: send to TV, server downloads and Shorts learning, since those would be shared between strangers

Details and caveats: Running a public instance

Before you volunteer

• Bandwidth: all video passes through your server
• YouTube blocks: many viewers on one address get flagged sooner (WARP rotation helps, within limits)
• Trust: visitors' requests pass through you. Please don't log what people watch
