Hi - BirdNET was not trained for these species, but Perch was for the examples you gave. So, select the option to use Perch as your classifier. |

Your mentioned species will be included in BirdNET+ version 3.0, but they aren't available in BirdNET version 2.4, which is currently used by BirdNET-Analyzer. A preview version of BirdNET+ is already available: https://github.com/birdnet-team/birdnet-V3.0-dev |

Hi there, I'm looking at bird diversity in the forests of New Zealand's South Island and have noticed a few species which appear to be missing from the species list for that region (Great spotted kiwi (Apteryx maxima), Kea (Nestor notabilis), New Zealand falcon (Falco novaeseelandiae), New Zealand pigeon (Hemiphaga novaeseelandiae), Yellow-crowned parakeet (Cyanoramphus auriceps) to name a few)... I notice many of these are species are nationally vulnerable/endangered, and I wondered if they had been intentionally 'hidden' (perhaps at the request of New Zealand's Department of Conservation (DOC)?). If not, could you please advise if/how I am able to include these species in my analysis?
