Serialization Design

Patrick Menking edited this page Apr 4, 2021 · 4 revisions

File format:

The file format for serialization will be a plaintext file. Each object will be delimited by a newline and each line will be delimited by a colon. The first line of the file will contain information such as the level name, difficulty, and number/types of objects. Each line thereafter will contain it data about it's object.

Example:

Level:difficulty:numberOfFish:numberOfObstacles:numberOfOrbs #First line is level data Fish Type:x,y:size:direction:life:health?(Is this a duplicate of life):points:numberOfFood #Second line is player Attributes Obstacle type:x,y #as many lines as numberOfObstacles Fish Type:x,y:size:directoin:points #as many lines as numberOfFish "Orb":x,y #as many lines as numberOfOrbs
