Bit fields cannot be parsed into bool

It seems like parsing SQL Bit type fields into Rust bools would be a common task. Currently, this does not seem to be supported. Any chance this could be added?

You mean BIT -> Vec<bool> or bit-vec?

Ah, I was attempting BIT -> bool. I suppose it needs to be wrapped in a Vec. We store single booleans in BIT(1) type fields. For some of these we allow null, so in these cases, I was trying BIT -> Option<bool>.

I realised that BitVec is only slows things with no actual benefits.
Other options, like bit_range or your own trait on Vec<u8> should already work.
I'd recommend following options for you:

1. Use SELECT (bitField & (1 << pos)) > 0 as boolField ... to get bool from mysql.
2. Map Vec<u8> received from BIT: .map(|v| (v[byte] & (1 << pos)) > 0)
3. Define macro or your own trait on Vec<u8> or use bit_range fot the same purpose as in option 2.
