Annke CZ540P - a warning

The camera compatibility notes mention that the Annke CZ504P works well with special firmware loaded.

Well, I’m sorry to report that the camera hardware has changed (I’m not sure when), so with newer models that firmware won’t load.

I reached out to Annke support who said this:

Dear Paul,

Thanks for contacting us. This is Laura from ANNKE Technical Support.
We sincerely apologize for any delays you have experienced in receiving our responses due to the time difference.

After searching, I am sorry to tell you that this camera does not support Frigate auto-tracking and does not support ONVIF RelativeMove (FOV) / TranslationSpaceFov.
We also do not have a firmware version for this camera that adds the requested TranslationSpaceFov functionality. The firmware you referenced from the Frigate compatibility page is not compatible with your camera's hardware branch, which is why the upgrade is rejected.

We understand that this would be useful for Frigate users, and we apologize that we cannot provide a firmware update to enable this function at this time.

I’m just leaving this here in the hope that it helps others who might be misguided by the official Frigate docs.

Thanks Josh. It's a real shame this latest version of the camera (E13 revision hardware) no longer has Frigate support, as apart from that it's a great little unit.

It doesn't even have on-board autotracking, so it's not as if you can leave that switched on and ignore Frigate tracking.
