Bottom nav on every page, Apollonius, and the Combine menu completed
Navigation
- Every page's own Previous/Next line is now repeated at the bottom, directly
above the Related heading. Done by tools/add_bottom_nav.py, which finds that
heading BY NAME rather than by position, so the nav never lands in the middle
of a real section.
circles-arcs
- New Apollonius section with its own figure, apollonius-cases.png, built by a
new generator build_apollonius.mjs. Three worked cases: two lines and a
circle, three circles, two points and a line. One solution solid, the rest
light and dotted. Placed immediately before the Arc tool heading.
- circle-methods.png reverted: Apollonius gets a separate diagram, not a
fourth panel on the existing one.
selection
- Select Outer Edges removed. It is a node-side command and does not belong on
the modeling-view page. Added a Related link to the node page instead.
transform-tools
- Rewritten so the page only ever speaks of transforming POINTS. Locus does not
transform objects, it transforms the free root points an object is built
from, and everything standing on them re-solves and follows.
- New callout before the Transform menu heading: if root points are shared with
objects you do not want to move, run Edit > Detach first.
- Reference and handle clicks snap in all the same ways a point does.
align-distribute
- The same Detach callout added at the bottom, below the refusal paragraph.
regions-booleans
- Paint Region added to the list of ways to build a region.
menu-combine
- The Combine menu has eight commands and this page listed six. Paint Region
and Split (Bake) added, in menu order.
- Two new pages: combine-paint.md and combine-split.md. Split's page says
plainly that it is a one-shot bake, not a live boolean.
- The Previous/Next chain shifted, so combine-fill, combine-autoregion,
combine-difference and menu-transform changed their nav lines, and _Sidebar
gained both entries.
- Both icons rendered by the normal exporter from Vera's glyphs, tinted region
like the rest of the row.
The icons land, Circle Tangent to... moves to Construct, and the Window menu becomes Nodes
Eighteen icon tiles rendered from Vera's glyphs, so every heading and menu row
that was carrying an icon-pending comment carries its icon again. Two are
re-renders: tool/tangent and node/tangent were redrawn in the app and the wiki
was still showing the old art.
Circle Tangent to... derives a circle from a centre and the thing it must touch,
so it sits in Construct now, after Circle: Apollonius, and Label is the last item
in Draw. Menu pages, sidebar and the Previous/Next chain follow. The page keeps
its draw-circle-tangent-to slug: renaming it would break the app's Help links and
change nothing a reader sees. menu-construct was also missing Circle: Apollonius
altogether; that row is in.
menu-nodes replaces menu-window. The node editor's placement is three checked
items now, Docked, Separate Window and Closed, and Closed is the one that needs
saying out loud: the graph keeps being evaluated, so what it realizes stays live
on the canvas. two-window follows, with an anchor for the new section.
A real crossing outranks an alignment snap line: where a guide cuts a segment,
ray or circle, the hover shows the crossing marker and the cursor lands on the
crossing itself.
What PR #66 changed about naming and label undo, and no more broken icons
A prefix means one kind of object across every language, so a file drawn
under one language keeps its names under another. Update Object Names reads
a generated name in any language, tells a drawn rectangle or square from a
plain group by the object itself, counts an appended file's " (N)" suffix as
generated, and renames the Reference nodes pointing at what it renamed. Undo
takes a label back together with the corner points it minted.
Eleven img tags pointed at icon files that are not in the repo. A heading now
carries an icon-pending comment instead of the img, the way the explode pages
already do, and a menu row keeps its img and gains the marker above it, the
way menu-view already flags cmd-view-align-snaps. The rows light up on their
own once the files land.
Circle Tangent to... as a tool and a node, the Label tool, and two rules the code added
Alignment Snaps: dwell to acquire, proximity lines, a cap of two, Alt to
suppress, and why a snap line is not a guide.
How new objects are named: the two-letter prefix, the running number, the
points that keep their letters, and what Update Object Names restates.
Apollonius, a Blur page, and the Auto Region command
Circle: Tangent is Circle: Apollonius in the app now. Renamed in the 17
places across seven pages that still used the old name, and the node card
re-rendered. The slug stays node-circle-tangent: it is a link target and an
asset name, not a display name.
Blur is a new node and had no page. node-blur.md documents In, Radius,
Strength and Out, what an image, a field and a plain number each turn into,
that Radius is millimetres of model space rather than pixels, and the two
things that do not blur: Random's index-seeded Per point field, and the
node's own preview thumbnail, which is a per-pixel lookup. It goes between
Graph Mapper and Combine in the chain.
Auto Region became a modeling command with no command page, though its node
page existed. combine-autoregion.md matches its five siblings and sits
between Fill and Union, where the Combine menu puts it.
node-blur and cmd-combine-autoregion icons are pending.
Three new node pages, a tool page, Align & distribute, and the docs the code left behind
New pages. Switch, Oblique Grid and Circle: Tangent shipped without wiki pages,
which hid their Help menu items. Circle: Tangent also gets the construction-tool
page it was the only Construct tool missing. Align & distribute is documented for
the first time: ten palette commands, six align and four that space things out.
Corrected against source, not against the commit messages. Grid gained Lattice
V1, Lattice V2 and Spacing Override; Tri Grid gained Lattice V1 and Spacing
Override. Grid reads V2 for its LENGTH only, never its direction, so its cell
stays a rectangle; only Oblique Grid shears. Math gained Round, Floor, Ceiling,
Min, Max, Square Root, Sine and Cosine, and the trig pair takes degrees.
Colour lists. Collect now passes non-geometry values through as a plain list,
Item at Index indexes those lists and accepts a LIST of indices, Random accepts
a list of seeds, and Style's Fill and Stroke accept a colour list that cycles
across the items. Four pages updated.
Convert to Nodes said dimensions were left in place. They convert now, each into
its matching Dimension node, with the two forms that need a point built for them.
Preferences still put the video overlay at the bottom of the window; it moved to
the lower-left corner.
Diagrams: six node cards re-rendered for the socket and operation changes.
Sidebar entries added and the neighbouring pages' Previous/Next lines fixed.
