Kodo Code

Welcome to the Way of Incense

v0.0.1 is the first official Kodo Code release.

Kodo Code is the orchestration layer between you and modern coding harnesses. Instead of forcing planning, execution, and validation into one muddy loop, it gives Codex CLI and Claude Agent SDK a cleaner workflow built around intention.

What makes Kodo Code different

Ask, Plan, Code, Review

Kodo Code is built around four distinct modes so you do not have to think, strategize, implement, and validate in the same mental state.

  • Ask for exploration without side effects.
  • Plan to turn a strategy into a reusable artifact.
  • Code to execute with approved context carried forward.
  • Review to scan for regressions, risks, and edge cases before you ship.

Enhance before send

The Enhance button helps refine a prompt before it ever reaches the harness. Whether you want a light cleanup or a stronger reframing, Kodo Code helps shape intent instead of just forwarding raw text.

Harnesses execute. Kodo orchestrates.

Kodo Code works with Codex CLI and Claude Agent SDK under the same workflow semantics, with per-project or per-session harness choice.

Models that match the job

Thinking, doing, and reviewing are different tasks. Kodo Code supports per-mode model switching so planning can use a more deliberate model while execution stays fast and focused.

Plans that persist

Plans are not throwaway chat text. They can carry forward into implementation as structured context, making the transition from strategy to action much more reliable.

Desktop-first workflow control

Slash commands, presets, model switching, and a first-class settings surface make the app feel like a workflow tool, not just a chat box wrapped around a CLI.

Download assets

Intel macOS and Windows ZIP builds currently share the same GitHub asset filename, so the release notes intentionally link to the unambiguous DMG and EXE downloads above.

macOS note

If macOS flags the app after download, run:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Kodo Code (Alpha).app"
