PC5 2.3.5 gets more Steam games going, saves where the save failed, plays more games' videos, labels newer Unity games right, and lets games use PC5's language.
Install
- ProsperoStore: update PC5 from its page in the store.
- PC5's own updater: Settings › System › Update now, or Update now when PC5 asks as it opens. It downloads only what changed when you have the version before, otherwise the whole app. PC5 restarts by itself when the update is installed.
New
- Games in PC5's language: a game now starts in the language set in Settings › System › Language; with System default it is the console's, as before. A game that doesn't have your language may show the names of its text instead of the text: set PC5 to English for it.
- Starting from a home-screen tile: a tile start now puts PC5's Steam emulator in place and registers PhysX, as a start from PC5's library does. Steam games started from their tile closed straight away before.
- A copy without Steam's library beside its program: PC5 now puts its Steam emulator there even when the copy keeps another Steam stand-in in a folder of its own. A game that only loads Steam's library if it wants Steam (one from another store) no longer gets one, and one 2.3.4 put there for it is taken away.
- Saving: some games ask how much free space the drive has before they save, and the console answered that drive C: didn't exist, so the game stopped. Fixed.
- Videos: an MP4 video's sound and picture are now listed as Windows lists them, sound first. A game that took the picture for the sound stopped at its first video.
- Newer Unity games: they draw with Direct3D 11, but PC5 took them for OpenGL or Direct3D 12. They're now set up as Direct3D 11 games and get △ › Graphics › Graphics mode.
Which games run
See the game compatibility list, made from players' reports and issues. Got a game running? Use Report it works (a game's △ › Manage, or PC5's web page), or add it here: the form takes a minute.
Reporting a problem
Please report problems as an issue on GitHub, not in ProsperoStore's comments:
- A game doesn't run for a game.
- A problem with PC5 for PC5 itself.
Attach the game's zip from /data/prospero-win/logs/: an issue-…zip, or the game's newest log-…zip when nothing crashed. The form asks for it, as the cause can't be found without it. △ on PC5's crash message, or a game's △ › Manage › Report a problem, opens the form for you, filled in.
If an update from PC5 fails, the message says why. Turn on Settings › System › Keep all logs, try again and attach PC5's own log. See Logs and debugging for what an issue may ask for.
