Feature request : Webchat, remove history after some times

Hello botpress team,

I might be wrong, but I didn't find way to do that actually. I'm looking to remove all messages from the webchat and start a fresh conversation whena user doesn't use the webchat in a few days. So the user wouldn'd be face with its old conversation with the bot, but would start a new one completely.

Please consider adding this feature to the webchat, or if it already exists, help me use it.

Yeah good idea! We could have a janitor that clears the messages at configurable interval.

So I just remembered the recentConversationLifetime config. While its not a solution to erasing the history, its a solution to displaying only recent conversations. You can edit /data/global/config/channel-web.json and set recentConversationLifetime to "1 minute" instead of "6 hours" and it should work.

I just tried it, it works ! But I needed to change startNewConvoOnTimeout to true in order for it to work.

Is there a way for the bot to send a proactive message when a new convo is started ? And event to trigger the message maybe ?

I am looking to clear the previous chat messages whenever user opens the Bot.

The solution that you have provided like setting the session timeout will not be ideal, because if I set the timeout time to 1 minute then let us say, if user open the Bot twice within a minute then it will not work.

Similarly, if I keep the session out time 1 minute, then let us say if user is thinking what to reply and user takes more than a minute then session will get reset and due to which the context will be lost, and Bot will not understand what user has responded.
