Update: playable on Played on past the photo scene with no further crashes. Menus, the exit prompt and saving all work, and an Xbox Series X controller works. It runs smoothly at about 36 fps (25 to 36 depending on the scene). There was one hang where a TV scene looped and input did nothing. After a restart from the autosave the same scene played through, so it hasn't reproduced. I'll post here if it comes back. Same setup as above: Windows 11, RTX 5090 (617.42), Ryzen 9 9950X3D. |

What is shown
Boots through logos and menus into the story. Plays past the story intro and the photo scene.
During the intro it runs at 47 to 60 fps (59.93 most of the time), with occasional pauses of about 2 seconds, which look like shader compiles. After the photo scene it runs smoothly at about 25 fps with the GPU around 35% busy. That is playable for a slow-paced game.
Current blocker
On plain main it aborts right after the story intro, when a character takes a photo:
The title resolves a 4x 512x512 target with PA_SC_MODE_CNTL_0.MSAA_ENABLE off while PA_SC_AA_CONFIG still holds 2x from earlier draws. #6571 fixes this, and with it the title keeps playing. No blocker is known after that; the remaining issue is performance (about 25 fps, GPU-bound below full load).
