Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter (PPSA28465)
Content version tested
01.006.000, from
sce_sys/param.json.AnyPS5 commit
73b6a4cc7144d80ba5c720306ec1516728dfb59b(main). Full Windows Release build, including thelibstarget. No PRs applied on top and no local changes to AnyPS5 source or patches to bypass unimplemented functions. The relinker test suite passed 230/230. The packaged host binaries were checked for Windows x64 format and missing dependencies.
System tested
10.0.26220, x64.Selected GPU name=line.32.0.15.9200.Furthest point
Startup / black frame only. No logo, menu or gameplay verified.
What is shown — measured observations
One run on 2026-10-20, with a 30-second cap. It terminated on its own after 24.09 seconds, with exit code
0xc0000409; it was not killed by the time cap.The converted executable loads its libraries, selects the RTX 2070, creates a 1088 x 612 swapchain, and starts game threads.
APS5_DUMP_FRAMES=1producedframe_000.bmp; that captured frame is completely black. Audio and input functionality were not verified. No frame-rate or playability claim is made. The AnyPS5 shader/pipeline cache was empty at the start of this first run (the log reports zero loaded pipelines/modules). The NVIDIA driver's cache state was not controlled.
Current blocker
The current import audit reports 0 absent imports, 0 missing host dependencies, and 0 library mismatches. It classifies 878 unique imports as 766 implemented, 22 throwing stubs, and 90 supplied by game modules. Export availability does not establish that every path in a function is implemented.
Related tracking: issue #8039 also records custom module
0x1bin Rise of the Ronin. fma-rc's firmware analysis identifies0x1bas Reverb. This adds another affected title for that module: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter (PPSA28465). Our run did not instrument the module's option/state sizes or buffer routing, so it does not establish that this title needs the other modules, multi-buffer racks or rack0x4003described there. The related PR #8609 is open as of 2026-10-20 and adds custom rack creation validation/error handling. Its description explicitly leaves valid but unimplemented modules throwing; it does not implement custom Reverb processing or claim to unblock this title. That branch has not been tested with this game. No local workaround or integration branch is used.
How it was run
The provided ELF executable and bundled
libc.prxwere checked against their SELF containers: their mapped payload segments match byte for byte. The ELF files were converted with all bundled modules. Game resources are underwindows/app0, with the original bundled module alongside the converted.guest.prx; host libraries and their runtime DLLs are underwindows/libs.Conversion command, with paths shortened:
Audit command, with paths shortened:
The executable was launched from its
windowsdirectory by a Pythonsubprocess.Popenwrapper, with stdout and stderr captured together instartup.logand a 30-second timeout. The run-specific environment was:No controller input was sent and no in-game settings were changed. Profiling and the single-frame capture were enabled, so the elapsed time should not be treated as a performance measurement.
Source-based analysis (AI-assisted; separate from the run observations)
At this commit,
Ngs2CheckCustomRackaccepts the implemented Filter, UserFx and UserFx2 module IDs and throws for other IDs. The runtime reports0x1b. The Reverb identification comes from the firmware analysis linked above, not from our runtime log alone. This identifies the observed stopping point; it does not prove that implementing this module would make the title playable.Report prepared with Codex assistance from the local build, import audit and one captured execution. Personal filesystem paths are omitted from the log excerpts below.
