main38d3c0858awith fix(agc): resolve and render a multisampled target through its sRGB twin format #8847 (12223bf208).38d3c0858a+ fix(libSceFont): keep horizontal writing on a single baseline #5209.System tested
Linux 7.2.9 (Arch), Ryzen 9 7950X, Radeon RX 6650 XT, RADV Mesa 26.2.4, GCC, Release.
Furthest point
In-game (first mission, Georgia Street)
What is shown
This is a PlayStation classics title: Sony's PS1 emulator with the disc image
SyphonFilter_SCES01910_SCEE_EN.bin.Without system fonts it stops with SIGSEGV 6 s in, right after
sceFontOpenFontSetfails for set0x1808B4D4(file=(none),0x80460036). That's the documented missing-fonts case. Under GDB, the emulator's own code reads through a pointer that holds -7.With the Noto substitutes from USAGE.md (
ANYPS5_SYSTEM_FONTS; this set usesNotoSansCJK-Regular.ttcwithNotoSans-Regular.ttfas fallback), it runs at 59.94 FPS with no driver stop and shows the emulator's controller-layout screen. Onmainthat screen's text steps down one glyph per line, and only the first word of each string is visible. With fix(libSceFont): keep horizontal writing on a single baseline #5209 the text renders on one baseline: "Click the touch pad button to use the SELECT button and START button" and "Press START to play!". Before/after: fix(libSceFont): keep horizontal writing on a single baseline #5209 (comment)
Past that screen, START is a touchpad click, as the screen says. Options doesn't advance it. With fix(libSceFont): keep horizontal writing on a single baseline #5209 and a touchpad click at 30 s, the PS1 game boots in a 180 s run: the studio logo, the "Guacimo, Costa Rica" intro, the Washington DC mission briefing ("Press X to continue"), then the first mission on Georgia Street with Gabe, the armor/health HUD, an enemy and the ammo counter. The window title reports 59.94 FPS throughout, with no driver stop. Only Cross and touchpad clicks were scripted, so movement and combat weren't exercised.
Audio and gameplay were not checked.
Current blocker
None once the system fonts are present. Without #5209, the emulator's UI text is laid out vertically, but I didn't check whether that blocks play. I only tested the touchpad START with #5209 in.
How it was run
Modules in
sce_moduleare converted with the title. The system fonts must be present, as USAGE.md describes.AI-assisted testing and report: yes, Claude Code.
