Title
Morrowind (OpenMW) (PPSA99630)
Content version tested
v1.0.1from the homebrew catalog (mshivam019/morrowind-ps5). It needs the user's own Morrowind data files, which I don't have, so it can only get as far as its data check.AnyPS5 commit
maina6dcea9, plus #9763 for the second case below. Last updated 2026-10-22.System tested
Ubuntu 24.04 x86-64 container under Rosetta on an Apple M5 (macOS 26.2), GCC 13.3, Release, llvmpipe (Mesa, LLVM 20.1.2), no real GPU.

What is shown
Nothing is presented. With the package as shipped the title runs its startup: it redirects its output to
/download0/stdout.logand/download0/stderr.log, loads/app0/assets/openmw.cfg, reportsOpenGL Renderer: PS5 AGC,OpenGL Version: 4.6 (Compatibility Profile) Mesa 26.2.0,Using reverse-z depth buffer, then quits on its own with exit status 0:That is the title asking for the game files, which the port's README says to supply. Someone with Morrowind's
Data Filesunder/download0/user/datacan take it from there.Current blocker
The game files. Nothing in the emulator stops it before that point.
One emulator-side problem shows when
/download0cannot be used (it is created from the package'ssce_sys, so a package without that directory has none, and a read-only location would do the same): the title's firstfreopenofstdoutfails, which leaves the stream closed, and a laterfreopenof that closed stream aborts the process onmain:FreeBSD's
freopenreopens a closedFILE, so the console carries on. The pull request below makesfreopendo the same; with it the title runs through to its data check (exit 0) in that layout too. Pull request: #9763.How it was run
relinker --to-rosetta --registry src/eboot.elf app.elfwith the package'ssce_module/libc.prxbeside the eboot, the package contents asapp0/, then(
ld-linuxbecause Rosetta's ELF loader refuses the converted binary's firstPT_LOAD.) The title's own logs land indownload0/stdout.loganddownload0/stderr.lognext toapp.elf.All reactions
