Implementation Plan

Overview

Make the summary stats (pinned rows) section scrollable when there are many pinned rows.

Steps

1. Identify the pinned rows container — in the AG Grid config, pinned bottom/top rows are rendered by AG Grid's built-in pinned row mechanism. Check if AG Grid provides a scrollable pinned row option, or if we need a custom approach.

2. Option A: AG Grid native — if AG Grid supports pinnedRowHeight with overflow, configure it to cap the pinned section height and enable scrolling within it.

3. Option B: Custom container — if AG Grid doesn't support scrollable pinned rows:

   • Render summary stats in a separate scrollable <div> below/above the main grid
   • Style with max-height and overflow-y: auto
   • Sync horizontal scroll position with the main grid

4. Cap height — limit the pinned section to ~4 visible rows by default, scroll for the rest. Make configurable via a max_pinned_height parameter.

5. Tests: Playwright test with 10+ pinned summary rows, verify scrollbar appears and all rows are accessible.

Status: Partially addressed on main

PR #545 (commit 5ac690b) fixed summary stats alignment for count and freq rows, and PR #587 fixed index column pinning. These improve summary stats readability significantly.

If the specific "doesn't scroll" behavior (scrollbar for many pinned rows) is still an issue, this may remain open with narrower scope. Worth verifying on the latest release.
