@arkdezin arkdezin released this 28 Sep 15:14

This release makes jobber-mcp usable by non-developers: no Node.js, no terminal, no config files.

Install - Claude Desktop (easiest)

  1. Download jobber-mcp.mcpb from the Assets below
  2. Claude Desktop → Settings → Extensions → Install extension → select the file
  3. In a chat, say: "authenticate with Jobber" - the assistant walks you through the one-time setup (create a free app at developer.getjobber.com with read-only scopes; takes ~5 minutes)
  4. Your browser opens, you log into Jobber and approve. Done - ask "Which invoices are overdue?"

Install - other MCP clients (developers)

Clone the repo and follow the README. Works with anything that speaks MCP over stdio: Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code Copilot, and more. You can also skip config files entirely and connect via the new authenticate tool from inside your assistant.

What's new

  • Claude Desktop extension (.mcpb): single-file, double-click install
  • authenticate tool: connect your Jobber account from inside the chat - browser OAuth, tokens stored locally at ~/.jobber-mcp/tokens.json and refreshed automatically
  • The server now starts without credentials and guides you through connecting
  • Refreshed tokens persist across restarts (no re-login loops)

Scope

Strictly read-only - the server can list jobs, invoices, quotes, visits and clients, and draft messages for your review. It cannot create, change, or send anything in your Jobber account. Your credentials stay on your machine.
