tq_get can stall and lock up

Over the last few days I've encountered a number of occasions in which tq_get(symbol, from=geDate) will simply stall and not recover. I've even left it overnight. Fundamentally I'm sure this is down to flaky internet or a sulky server but it would be nice if tq_get didn't simply lock up so I could programmatically retry.

But I'm not seeing anything in the code that might help with this. Is there?

I've tried wrapping this with R.utils::withTimeout() to no effect.
