While all requests go through Cloudfront, the executing layer sits in us-east-1 right now. Would be sweet to have active multi region support, so that redundant execution layers are deployed in multiple regions and routed based on geo / latency in route53.
At the moment a request from Germany takes about 300 - 600 ms, where the actual lambda execution is just something in the range of 50-100ms
