Since we're doing a 3.0 release, could we bring this back in? #218

It was only reverted because it turned out to be a breaking change :-)

No; if we do this then @bepri is going to have to spend a lot of time fixing the breakages in craft-application (no idea about the size of that). Also the applications will definitely break
we should do 3.0 now and then someone can do 4.0 later if they're up for dealing with the aftermath

Resolve erroneous link warnings affecting literalref directives. Sphinx-lint
will no longer check for spaces before angle brackets (` <>`) or underscores
after graves (`_).

The root cause is a bug in our implementation of literalref:
canonical/canonical-sphinx-extensions#47
