We want to relate otelcol to grafana for dashboards so we can see if there are any actionable insights on the collector. Currently, it has limited functionality because it is only scraping internal COS components and remote writing. However, in the future we want this to act as the main ingress for COS telemetry. This would make an otelcol dashboard critical.
