Steam core26 - Call for Testing

It's that time again, and we have a core26 version of the Steam snap and gaming-graphics! They are ready for wider testing, and we'd appreciate any feedback you may have.

Updating to core26 allows you to get the latest graphics libraries and most update to date features for Steam.

Core26 Steam and gaming-graphics are still in testing stages, and should be treated like a beta test. You may encounter unexpected behavior or bugs.

How to test

1. Stop/quit Steam (ensure it is fully closed via the tray icon as well)
2. Refresh Steam to core26

   snap refresh steam --channel stable/core26

3. That's it!

Refreshing Steam to stable/core26 should automatically connect the core26 version of the graphics stack. You can verify this by running snap connections steam and looking for a line like content[gaming-graphics-core26] steam:gaming-graphics-core26 gaming-graphics-core26:gaming-graphics-core26 manual.

You may also switch between gaming-graphics channels as you normally would:

snap refresh gaming-graphics-core26 --channel kisak-fresh # kisak-fresh or kisak-turtle

What to test

You may refer to the wiki section for testing for specific steps to test, but really just use Steam as you normally would and comment any issues you encounter.

How to revert

You may go back to the core24 version of Steam by running snap refresh steam --stable. The graphics stack should automatically update in this case as well: look for a gaming-graphics-core24 line in the output of snap connections steam.

Make sure to do this when you have concluded testing.

How to report problems/bugs

At this time, please do not open issues for core26-specific bugs. Instead, leave a comment here with any issues you encounter and setup details. Please leave a thumbs-up react to posts already made about issues you encounter instead of making additional posts. If the issue also occurs in the core24 version of this snap, then a proper GitHub issue would be warranted.

When posting about issues, it is useful to include the following:

• Steam logs output from running in the terminal
• The output of snap run steam.report --cli --no-submit

May I ask, what has changed? Like a changelog of the relative biggest changes? For example drivers, mangohud, gamescope, etc... I dont know what to ask, but some changelog of difference between core24 and core26?
