career-ops has moved from my personal account to a GitHub organization. Same project, same MIT license, same local-first philosophy, now with a home that matches how this community actually works.
What changes for you: nothing you have to do
git cloneand your existing remotes keep working: GitHub redirects the old path.@santifer/career-ops.If you have 3 or more merged PRs: you have an invitation
That's the whole criterion: no votes, no nominations, no application, and it's retroactive: it applies whether your last PR was yesterday or in April. The census is a script, and scripts miss things: if you have 3+ merged PRs and no invitation yet, say so in this thread and it gets fixed, no questions asked. Check your email or https://github.com/career-ops-hq
Accepting adds you to the contributors team. Membership is private by default: make it public from the People page if you want it on your profile.
The ladder
Documented in GOVERNANCE.md, every step earned in the open:
The teams above contributors are being seeded from the people who have been doing that work all along: those conversations are happening individually, the same way the work happened: one PR at a time.
Thank you for building this. Let's build together.
— Santiago Fernández de Valderrama Aparicio
Updated on 2 October 2026: the ladder above now matches GOVERNANCE.md, the one place it is written down. The org criterion (3+ merged PRs) has not changed.
