NebRedis is a NEB (Naemon Event Broker) module which submits status data to Redis. It is a work in progress and as such, the keys used, all structure and their contents are all subject to change.
NebRedis inserts the statuses for Naemon objects such as services, hosts, comments and downtimes into a Redis database which makes it possible for clients to easily extract data from a running Naemon instance. Indeed, it is also possible to extract the same data while restarting the Naemon instance since all client interaction is done directly with Redis, something that is not possible with modules that work directly on the in-memory data structures of Naemon. The use of Redis also enables use of existing libraries and clients and should in theory also work for clustering status data using Redis Cluster.
I haven't really tried anything other than the most basic operations myself, though, so feedback is very much appreciated and patches are, as always, welcome!
In particular, I would like some input on how to structure the data in the Redis database to enable more interesting stories.
