2.37.10: library floor rc52, the health line, the audio gain trim after the normalizer
2.36.0: battery cameras are not warmed on motion (two leftover lines); library floor is 1.0.0rc45
2.36.0: battery cameras sleep after a view closes and are not warmed on motion; option labels without defaults; the off-network light repair; unclaimed devices in Diagnostics
Bring the wiki up to 2.35.0: four option pages, the defaults that are on, HLS audio, go2rtc repair; talk needs no live view Configuration options lists the four pages and every option with its current label and default (Pin camera video to H.264, Direct publish into go2rtc, Audio in HLS and recordings and In-sync audio for recordings are on; Open the clip inside the Home Assistant app is off). The HLS dialog has sound by default since 2.30.8. Cameras publish straight into go2rtc. Troubleshooting gains the duplicate-key repair issue, the pinned camera that answers H.265, the stale cached stream fixed in 2.30.6 and the clip that lost its first seconds. aidot.talk opens its own session when no live view is running; PTZ buttons follow what the camera advertises (the reference model pans only). The IR-light switch and the hub row are gone; the integration is listed as AiDot Cameras; the library floor is rc40.
Document the slow-motion live view and that the HLS dialog is now silent Integration 2.30.4 stopped registering an AAC transcoding source with go2rtc. On affected go2rtc builds that transcode carried timestamps stamped on a 90 kHz clock while advertising MPEG4-GENERIC/8000, so audio arrived stretched about elevenfold and every player that syncs to audio crawled to match. - Troubleshooting: new section for the symptom, with the two-capture check that tells it apart from the existing "buffers like HLS" entry. - Configuration options: the direct-publish row no longer promises the HLS fallback carries sound, because it no longer does. - Dashboard cards: note that sound lives on the WebRTC path. - Cameras: normalise non-ASCII punctuation.
docs: document the two undocumented streaming options, widen the HLS limit The options page never listed "Pin camera video to H.264" or "Direct publish into go2rtc", both of which are in the streaming step people actually see. The HLS/record limitation was written as battery-only. It is not: a mains camera with a warm-hold window set is cold once that window expires, and meets the same 10 s cap. Measured on a standard mains camera left idle past its window - the first two HLS opens failed, the third succeeded, live view fine throughout. Also replaced a real camera entity id in the card examples with the placeholder the rest of the wiki uses.
Document the owner-vs-member account limit for events and recordings The cloud event and recording lists are only populated for the account that owns the home; a member the home is shared to reads empty lists, so motion events, notifications and cloud recordings all silently produce nothing while the owner's app shows them. It is an AiDot account-role limit, not an integration fault. Add it under 'Motion events are not firing', give cloud recordings a 'Nothing shows up' section, and point the notifications config note at it.
Note that HA notifications are an independent path from the app's Almost every control mirrors a device setting the app shares; notifications do not. HA polls the cloud event list, the app uses its own push channel, and neither toggle affects the other. State it in the notifications section, with the caveat that the events feeding it are still gated by the camera's own (mirrored) detection settings.
Describe how clip links are actually protected, and that they survive a restart
Correct an entity name that does not exist, and the SDES/battery conflation Checked every entity id the wiki names against the 1154 entities on a live install. Two things were wrong. Supported devices listed `switch.<camera>_camera_audio`. No such entity exists: the friendly name is "Camera audio (in HA stream)", so the real id is `switch.<camera>_camera_audio_in_ha_stream`. Anyone searching for the documented name would have found nothing. Three pages described that switch, and SDES features generally, as belonging to "SDES (battery) cameras". The gate is SDES, not battery - the mains A001064 PTZ is SDES and does get the switch, which is two of the three cameras carrying it on the reference install being battery and one being mains. The integration's own comment said the same thing and is corrected there too. Everything else checked out: every other documented entity suffix exists, both documented services are real, and the resolution select is described as removed on all four pages that mention it - correctly, since it is gone from the code and absent from the install.
Document the 2.20.3 log fix, and correct the cold-start timings Troubleshooting gains the flood that 2.20.3 actually fixes. The page already covered the device library's chatter (fixed in 2.9.20), but not the camera library's own INFO flood - the one Home Assistant itself reports as "Module aidot_cameras.camera.webrtc_open is logging too frequently", which is the string someone would search for and find nothing. It also notes that the same release stopped a diagnostic writing a camera's decrypted audio to the log as hex, since anyone holding old log files should know they may contain it. Configuration options carried two stale cold-start figures - "roughly 15-22 s" to reconnect a dormant camera, and "the 15-20 s cold start" at startup. Measured across 11 real cold opens, a mains camera's serve binds in 2.6-3.6 s. The page also contradicted Cameras, which has said "~2.5 s cold" for some time. Both now point at Cameras for per-model timings rather than repeating a number that will drift again. Both pages now say that some cameras cannot be held warm at all: a model that stops sending video once nobody is watching is detected as stalled and reconnected repeatedly, which on one PTZ was six reconnects in a day, each leaving a burst of damaged timestamps that can fail a camera.record while live view is unaffected. Those cameras want a positive warm-hold, not the default.
docs: options page is a menu from 2.19.0; motion notifications; drop the withdrawn SDES serve-mode and adaptive rows; connection-mode labels as of 2.18.0
Document video decoder selection; correct the library floor Adds a video decoding section to the configuration options, notes in known limitations that H.265 ingest is not enabled and that hardware decoding does not always help, and records the black-picture fault and its fix in troubleshooting. Updates the current library floor to 0.15.0.
Use plain ASCII throughout the wiki Replaces em dashes, en dashes, arrows, smart quotes, ellipses and decorative symbols with ASCII equivalents across all pages, so the published docs render identically everywhere and copy/paste cleanly into terminals and issue reports. Two glyphs needed wording rather than substitution: the HACS kebab-menu icon is now written as 'the three-dot menu', and the middle-dot separators became slashes (a pipe would have broken the markdown table cell in Home.md).
Catch docs up with 2.9.19-2.9.22: disconnected-devices fix, battery keepalive drain, mains warm-hold regression, log filtering and the logger-override trap; correct the push-mode idle-release claim and the library floor
Catch docs up with 2.9.12-2.9.15: warm-hold default 0, startup prewarm on, fleet-sized stream cap, motion is polled, 2.9.14 blank-mains fix
Configuration-options: fix SDES fast-connect wait wording (~2s livePlayResp was the DTLS figure)
Document the 3 SDES streaming options; refresh stale version/terminology - Configuration-options: add the SDES push serve mode, SDES fast connect, and SDES adaptive rows (all shipping since 2.7.x, previously undocumented). Normalized the table's typography to ASCII while here. - Troubleshooting: the av-17 fix floor reference was >=0.10.3; the current library floor is >=0.11.2. - Home: 'fast-connect' was renamed to the Connection mode option.
Remove SDES fast connect option (removed in 2.8.1)
Wiki: warm-hold default is 300 s (5 min); correct mains cold-start to ~15–21 s; add sensor.wifi_rssi
Configuration options: add camera audio gain (dB)
Configuration options: connection mode + camera audio on by default
Docs: SDES fast connect now on by default (2.5.16)
