RPi won't boot - connector reversed

My Pi zero won't boot when connected to the SharPiKeebo board, no green led.

An already booted and running Pi Zero turns off/shuts down (no power) as soon as connected to Sharpikeebo.

The sharpikeebo battery/charger/LEDs and LCD screen all appear to work (powers up when turned on) & all stay on when Pi in connected but no LED or boot action on the Pi :-(

Since I have a faulty/hardware issue how do I get a replacement from Mouser direct or via CrowdSupply???

I think the pictures are wrong -- I found that the gpio header was backwards and the pi has to be mounted component side up, facing away from the back of the sharpikeebo main board... (i.e. put the gpio header on the backside of the Pi Zero, pointing down)

Still working on the display...

yeah - I spotted the "1" printed on the sharpikeebo PCB near the connector (despite its name in the V1.2 schematic containing "REVERSE_SMD") it's NOT mirror image as it should be :-(

and no display on Bookworm... this is quite an expensive paperweight

I've got Pi Zero 2W now (reverse) mounted, and powered from the sharpikeebo board; but none of the capabilities of the board are visible inside Raspberry Pi OS.

The keyboard can be used as a QMK USB device on another machine, but that's a bit pointless...

I've been attempting to engineer around the gpiod->lgpio changes to get a version of this to work for the display, but no luck.

The supplied USB-C to micro-USB lead must be required to get keyboard connectivity from the base board to the Pi, or some sort of pogo-pins from the D+/D- pads along the top edge of the keyboard side of the base board to the underside of the Pi to line up with the corresponding pads shown in https://github.com/ccadic/sharpikeebo/blob/main/documentation/PiZeroConnections_large.jpg

these 2 both show pogo pins used to get USB D+/D- from base board to Pi - and confirm the orientation of the Pi (but disagree with other drawings showing it the other way up)

The pins have to be the other way? Dang! My Pi Zero W came with the pins installed pointing upward from the component side of the circuit board. Maybe I can find an adapter somewhere.

V1222 has a lot of fixes compared to the v2.2 on the boards we have. Kinda feels like they accidentally sent the wrong board files to the production house, couldn't afford to fix the problem, then stuffed it in the "too hard" basket and tried to just avoid sending them out.

If you have a Pi Zero with the headers already soldered on the top, unless you've got proper desoldering equipment and a deep well of masochism, it's better if you just get another Pi Zero without the headers and put them on the "right" way around. Desoldering headers successfully is difficult and it's easy to damage the board doing it.
