Issue

I'm not sure if I've already posted this - but these formatting glitches persist in the latest version.

Version and model info

Aider v0.88.5.dev+less
Main model: gemini/gemini-2.5-pro with diff edit format
Weak model: gemini/gemini-2.5-flash-lite
Git repo: .git with 123 files
Repo-map: using 4096 tokens, auto refresh
Multiline mode: Enabled. Enter inserts newline, Alt-Enter submits text

What shell and other configuration options are involved here? This feels like it should be architect mode but aider-ce for sure doesn't highlight background colors by default since the drawing of them makes the async buffered outputs real epileptic. Output in a normal bash shell looks like so, as of 0.88.6:

I'm using ubuntu bash, pretty vanialla config. Doing an export I see lots of variables defined and I don't know what they do - but these are what came with the standard .bashrc and I've not touched them. eg:

I think that white highlighting might have been me selecting text before changing my mind and grabbing a screnshot! soz.
