As a precursor to troubleshooting performance issues with repo map generation (especially with large repos), I've added some profiling support to
io.pyand inserted profiling calls at key points during the repo map generation.I also added
.aider*to.gitignoresince aider-ce prompts me to do that every time it starts.I thought these changes might be generally useful. If you agree, feel free to cherry-pick, revise, etc.
